Surveyor’s Right of Entry

    Since someone always owns the other side of the boundary line and land surveyors are charged with finding the correct location of boundary lines for both parties, not just their client, land surveyors often need to survey across the property of our client’s neighbors as well as that of our client.  We encourage clients to talk with their neighbors before we get there so that they understand what is happening and the benefit to everyone. 

    We usually try to stay near the property lines to perform our job in order to perform our work efficiently and to minimize the chance for annoying the neighbors.  Under Missouri State Law, Missouri Revised Statutes Chapter 327.371, land surveyors have the right of entry onto the property of others in order to perform our job.
